Meaningful Counseling

No matter how strong we are, everyone can face unexpected changes, chronic stressors, deep losses or trauma, or inner changes that can de-stabilize us and cause us to question our place in the world. These challenges can seem overwhelming, leading us to feel distressed or anxious, or depressed and unmotivated. With time, we don’t think as clearly and can even have a hard time remembering or connecting with the people or activities that are important to us. We feel incomplete, incapable, directionless, or disconnected.

Achieving healing and wholeness involves more than making symptoms disappear; it involves listening to what our bodies, feelings and thoughts are telling us about what we really care about. In the Jungian sense, I believe we have a lot to learn from our shadows. Adversity can also be a springboard for profound personal growth and new meaning.

I would like to help you on your own journey to feeling better. My grounding in Humanistic Psychology, and sensitivity and knowledge of Psychospiritual issues, creates a safe environment for you to explore your concerns and questions. I use my experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help you minimize depression and/or anxiety/trauma symptoms, re-establish a stable sleeping cycle, and more effectively cope with, manage and communicate feelings of anger and frustration. Additionally, with exposure to Mindfulness practices such as meditation and prayer, I am extremely supportive of your integrating whatever personal Mindfulness or Spiritual practices you use for coping or insight into the therapeutic process.
